Today’s hip-hop artists are continuing to blur musical expectations and redefine the status quo of the industry. One talented musician leading this charge is James Smith born yet internationally-raised J-doe. The Inglewood, CA native first jumped on the scene in 2003 and has only continued to climb further to the top of his class.

The triple threat artist has quickly built a name for himself in the industry and finished out 2014 announcing a publishing deal with Notting Hill Music Group and a new artist deal with Sony Music in conjunction with Busta Rhymes and The Conglomerate.

J-doe has been penning hits for your favorite artists for more than ten years, having stake in Danity Kane’s famous hit “Damaged.” Then in 2013 J-doe celebrated a Grammy nomination for his work on Tyrese’s Open Invitation album which was nominated for Best R&B album of the year.

While J-doe began working on his own music, the Grammy nominated songwriter continued to pen numerous standout compositions for some of today’s hottest artists, including Jamie Foxx, Ariana Grande, Usher, JLo, Kelly Rowland and Tyrese.

In 2012, J-doe started releasing his own music, including his most notable track ‘Coke Dope Crack Smack,’ featuring Busta Rhymes, which has garnered more than 5 million YouTube views to date. His most recent feature is on Meek Mills’ chart-topping single, ‘The Latest.’

Last year, J-doe dropped his solo project Welcome To My Fan Club; hosted by the LA Leakers. The 12-song project features B.J. The Chicago Kid, Eric Bellinger, Tank, Vali, and James Fauntleroy.

At the top of 2015 J-doe released his latest track, “You Don’t Really Know,” featuring Busta Rhymes which premiered with Complex Media. He is set to drop two new buzz records with visuals followed by his first single under the Sony label – “All I Know.”

J-doe is undoubtedly one of the next fresh artists on the rise who continues to blaze his own trail through the industry while being admired and inspired throughout his journey.
